Antique Primitive Cream Dough Shoulder Bowl - 10.5"

Crafted with a substantial weight and a generous, deep curve, this cream stoneware bowl carries the quiet permanence of 19th-century kitchen traditions. Its smooth, pale glaze retains an inviting warmth, ready to rest on a sunlit island holding seasonal fruit or artisan sourdough bread.

These were designed as heavy-duty workhorses for farmhouses, bakeries, and general store milk counters. The walls were kept thick and smooth to make them incredibly easy to scrape clean with a wooden spoon or dough knife, leaving no ridges where flour, batter, or dairy could get trapped and spoil.

Note: The small linear mark in the interior base is a natural 19th-century kiln firing stress mark created during original production, fully sealed under the historical glaze. It is an original manufacturing artifact rather than a post-production drop crack, making the bowl sturdy, watertight, and structurally sound for daily sourdough prep or kitchen life.
