Crafted during the historicist revival of late 19th-century Germany, this grand salt-glazed Westerwald stein showcases an extraordinary level of human artistry and sculpted relief work. Its rich cobalt blue scrollwork frames a dual heraldic shield beneath a royal crown, while a crowned profile portrait anchors the neck with quiet dignity. Topped with an ornate brass lid and figural finial, this piece reflects the dedicated hand-tooling and salt-glaze tradition of master potters like Reinhold Hanke or Girmscheid.
