A stunning example of traditional German craftsmanship, this 10-inch "Bembel" pitcher features the iconic salt-glazed grey finish accented with hand-painted cobalt blue floral motifs. Originally used for serving apple wine (Apfelwein) in the Frankfurt region, these pitchers are now prized for their rustic durability and timeless folk-art aesthetic.
The salt-glaze process gives the surface a characteristic "orange peel" texture that is both beautiful and incredibly strong.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. No visible chips or cracks. The glaze is bright, and the hand-painted details are crisp. Salt texture visible on bottom.
