Hand-thrown in the historic Westerwald region of Germany, this traditional salt-glazed stoneware mug carries a rich, tactile orange-peel texture and vibrant cobalt blue scrollwork. Its sturdy weight and generous form offer a grounding, comfortable hold for slow morning coffee or quiet evening tea.

Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 5" H x 5.5" W (rim to handle) x 3.75" W

  • Condition: Excellent vintage condition; textured salt glaze with zero chips or cracks. Orange peel texture popular with this style of pottery.

  • Origin: Germany (Westerwald style)

  • Material: Stoneware with cobalt blue glaze

  • Incised handwritten inscription on the raw stoneware base from the potter. Small souvenir and tavern pieces were frequently incised by local artisans for shops and inns. Next to the inscription is an impressed maker's mark shield or crest, along with stamped mold/style numbers.
