1870s: The Origins
First created in the late 1870s by Thomas Forester & Sons in Staffordshire, England, these iconic vessels were originally known simply as "Fish Pitchers."
1950s: Royal Recognition
Gifted to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during a visit to Dartmouth Pottery, propelling the pitcher into British cultural icon status.

How do I fill it up to get the best gurgle sound?
Fill the jug with cold water or beverages through the top opening, leaving about 1 to 2 inches of space below the top mouth. This maximizes the trapped air volume in the tail, creating the loudest acoustic "glug" when pouring!
How should I clean and care for my Gluggle Jug?
While the high-grade glazed earthenware is technically dishwasher safe, we recommend hand-washing with warm, soapy water and a bottle brush to preserve the hand-finished glaze for generations. Air dry upside down completely.
